Hi Chad. Just a quick note to tell you thank you for working with us on our new home. We have been here since November and am so pleased with our new K & L home. I hardly know where to start to thank all the contractors who helped with our decision making. But it all started with Chad listening to our ideas and making us feel comfortable and leading us through the floor plan we love. The cupboards are amazing with Brandy from Looking Glass Cabinetry, Josh from Magic Touch ... the flooring and carpets were perfect , Tanja from Front Street lighting was so helpful, Sue from Hebron Brick, Jack from Flecks appliance , Shawn from Front Street Mill, Kathy from SPS for fixtures, Kevin from Pacific Sound, Russ with Fetzer electric, Shane from Contractors Supply. All of these people were so helpful and the best people to work with in the building process and always got back to us with our questions. Also I must mention Michelle who was wonderful and kept us in the loop with the co-construct app. Then a big THANK YOU to Ryan who checks back with us with the minor building issues. The followup by Ryan is the best part of K & L. We live in a community where the builder is still with us after the project is complete. I tell people we are so well taken care of here. Our best decision was to build a K & L home. AND Jared with Next 2 Nature....his landscaping plans were just what we looking for and what a great job. Dear Chad,
This is a letter of reference from us to any of your potential clients. It is a long story, but last year we were evacuees from the Missouri River flood.

We did not want to return to our house that had some flood damage, and purchased a lot on a bluff in the Promontory addition of northwest Bismarck, overlooking the Missouri River.

While I was signing the contract on the lot, our realtor introduced my wife, Maryvonne, and me to Chad Moldenhauer of K&L Homes, who showed us a
couple of spec homes he had under construction at the time. Having built four custom homes in Bismarck, one in Prescott, AZ, and a custom
penthouse condo in Mazatlan, Mexico, we were impressed with the layout and finish of Chad's houses. But, of course, my wife, a wanna-be architect and interior decorator, told Chad she wanted her own custom design. Chad began asking questions about a possible layout, produced some ideas from plans of homes he had built, and, within two weeks, we had working drawings for our final dream home, a bid, a contract, with a completion date.

We didn't quite make the completion date. But that is ok. Because I knew we wouldn't. Chad underestimated the level of detail Maryvonne demands in a house. He tells us he learned a lot working with her.

But all that is just fine. Because we have the very best house we have ever built. Of all the homebuilders with whom we have built, Chad, K&L Homes, its
finishing personnel, and Chad's sub-contractors are, bar-none, the very best we have ever dealt with. I was personally on-site almost every day, and it was amazing to watch the organization, the commitment to quality, and the workmanship. Lyle Nagel Construction, the framers...it was like watching a cathedral in the making.

But the best of the best are Chad's finishing crew, led by his ramrod, Clint. In all the houses we have built, we have been given blue tape to mark spots that need repainting...or whatever. I am as anal as anybody I know, and I have yet to find one blemish! And never in all our experience have we dealt with people of such courtesy and attention to detail. The finish detail in our new home, down to the baseboards, is the best we have ever seen.

Chad and K&L Homes are also the best organized of any homebuilder with whom we have constructed. His web-based software keeps the owner abreast every day of the status of the project and completion dates (which Maryvonne got behind on, but, again, it's ok, because the house is magnificent!).
Given what happened with the Missouri River flood this past year, and the economic boom, and subsequent housing boom that is taking place in Bismarck, I cannot begin to express how happy we are that our realtor introduced us to Chad on that day last June when we bought our lot.

There is no doubt in our minds that no other builder in Bismarck would have us in such a quality house in the time it took to build it. And the ultimate acid tests: if your marriage survives building a custom home, and you are friends with the homebuilder on completion...WIN! WIN!

We are not just friends with Chad. We love him and his people!

My wife and I have just finished our one year anniversary of moving into a beautiful new home in Bismarck, North Dakota. We are new to the area and didn't know much about housing, where to live or getting trustworthy, good help. We met with couple of different builders trying to find someone we felt we could trust. Building a new home is obviously is very involved process and in today's world we need someone knowledgeable in the industry with good connections. We have found that and more thanks to K & L Homes.

The building process was very educational. We absolutely recommend the online computer software and very accurate accounting that takes place through the co-construct website. All ordering and changes as well as comments and concerns were answered typically promptly via the website and sometimes in person or on the phone.

We cannot believe how, responsive Chad was to our needs as we have some special circumstances with a growing family and lots of kids. The building crew was obliging to every request. Recommendations were given by Chad. He did some wonderful things for us that cannot have a price put on them. Even the subcontractors that worked through K & L Homes were extremely accommodating. At one point my wife was watching the home being framed and saw that the laundry room was going to be a bit small. She mentioned this to the framer. The next day the wall was moved. There was no reservation about doing
everything to help keep us happy. Another small example of how accommodating this building company is, under the stairs just inside our front door we put a "Harry Potter room". We asked the framers if that area could be left open so our children could have a special room to play and hide. They were totally willing and now we have a small Harry Potter room under the stairs. This essentially cost us nothing.

Besides a great quality home which is custom and very unique to our needs, the K & L warranty is absolutely unbelievable. You will not find better anywhere. There were a few things that we found over the first couple of weeks that were fixed a very promptly without any questions or concerns. But after this time, over the last year, we have had the subcontractors and specialists that work with K & L Homes back in our home fixing small issues and even fixing new issues that had nothing to do with building. Our custom flooring was done very appropriately in conjunction with the manufacturer. The K & L team went
out of their way to make sure was done as appropriately as possible. We are so happy with it and they have even come back to adjust a few things to make us even more satisfied. We are very pleased with our home and are so grateful for the hard work and customizations that we have some this builder. If we were going to build a home again we would absolutely do it with K & L Homes with high recommendations. We are glad to call Chad our friend. We had been looking to build a new home for over three years when we selected K & L Homes and Chad Moldenhauer. We attended all of the Parade of Homes and took advantage of opportunities to look at homes by many builders. We carefully researched our decision in terms of design, quality of materials, subcontractors, and reputation and reliability of the builder. K & L ranked very high in our selection criteria. It probably would have been an easy decision simply based upon the excellent reputation and awards K & L has earned. Nonetheless, we previously had built a new home and were not new to the building process. We were very careful and deliberate in selecting who would build our dream home. We were delighted and confident in our decision to have Chad and K & L build our house and we are very rewarded for our decision. We absolutely love our new home!

Because K & L builds so many houses we had the opportunity to inspect many of those houses during each phase of the construction process, including framing through finishing like tiling, stone-work, and floorcoverings. We received many good ideas from the successes of other K & L homeowners. We became familiar with the quality of work by the subcontractors and particularly the K & L employees that do all the work during the finishing stages that we see as homeowners and, hopefully, enjoy for many years. For example, K & L designed a unique fireplace for us and precisely cut and installed the stone in a manner that the stone manufacturer said could not be done. We were impressed by the pride K & L employees took in the installation of fireplace stone, back splash tile, flooring and etc. It was obvious to us that the quality of our home and our satisfaction was important to them.

Many of these individuals were absolute artists with their work. K & L employees were always patient, polite, and respectful and we never felt like our presence or questions were an imposition. Respectful treatment by these individuals always suggested to us similar treatment of our home and its construction and features.

The subcontractors were great to work with including, for example, the electrical, plumbing and heating subcontractors. We really want to acknowledge the cabinet work because we could not be more pleased with the quality, color, and appearance of our cabinet work, which is such an important and noticeable part of our beautiful home.

We really liked Co-Construct, the software K & L uses to build its homes and communicate with its customers. It tracks the construction schedule of your home, selection of your materials, and costs of change orders and upgrades. We reviewed and approved each change order and it eliminated any surprises or disagreements about the changes and costs. It was so helpful to be able to track those costs to determine our priorities and keep focused on the bottom line in order to avoid cost overruns. We were very pleased to avoid the pitfalls of "he said-she said" and "I told you this would cost more...and no, you didn't."

If we ever build again, and we like to think we will, we would choose K & L Homes again. We are extremely happy with our home. It was a very positive experience and we could not be more pleased with our new home! On a scale of 1 to 10, we would rate our experience as a "9" with any higher rating not likely attainable.

I am writing to recommend K & L Homes as a builder and to tell you about my building experience. Overall, my wife and I were treated fairly and honestly throughout our entire building process. From our first meeting with Chad, through our countless communications with his staff during the process and still four months after closing, Chad and his staff continue to impress us with their honesty, integrity and communication.

During our first meeting with Chad, after deciding to purchase our home, he introduced us to CoConstruct. Co-construct is the online software that allows the customer to make selections for their home, communicate with the K & L staff and their sub-contractors, approve change orders, budget and track progress. I entered into the building process with many questions and perceptions. Co-construct answered and helped calm many of these. Co-construct allowed us to make selections for our home as well as see the financial effects of every decision. With nearly all communication taking place on CoConstruct, we had a record of communication, which gave us peace of mind knowing exactly what was said over many conversations. Communication on Co-Construct was very consistent and reliable. CoConstruct proved to be a key component to our successful building project.

Throughout our process, we were always treated as promised or better. This may seem to be a cliché comment, but in all aspects of our building project we felt that we were treated very well. We always knew that if Chad said he would do something, it would be done. By the time we moved into our home,
our home was exactly as we had envisioned it. Chad and Clint were very helpful in guiding us in making decisions that we needed help with. Their expertise and professionalism helped us make informed decisions that we were very happy with.

Since closing, K & L Homes has far exceeded my expectations. Many people, based on other building experiences, continually kept telling me to make sure I got everything that was promised to me before closing, otherwise I would never get it. Those comments couldn't be further from the truth with K & L Homes. They allowed us to get moved in and settled before they came back in to do final touch ups on everything. Through Co-Construct, they have kept us in close contact with all the sub-contractors to ask questions and to hold them accountable to fix or help us with anything they had installed. Chad has completely stood behind everything in our home to ensure the quality that he is building his reputation on.

We were very impressed and pleased with our home when it was completed. After closing on the home, we were impressed with your responsiveness when it came to fixing things we noticed after living in the home for a few weeks.

I think much of that has to do with how well you treated Sheila and me from the very first meeting in one of your "spec" homes. You were honest with us and explained what you could and could not do for us, and then delivered on that promise. Most impressive, in my opinion, was that you built our home in the time you said you would!

I also want to say that everyone who works for you helped us in some way, and did an impressive job. Michelle has so much knowledge of the building process, including dealing with vendors/contractors, and offered helpful advice when we needed it. All of your employees did a wonderful job, and answered all of my questions whenever I asked. I was at the home almost daily, and Clint, Jason, and all of your finish workers pay particular attention to detail, and impressed me with how picky they were in trying to make it perfect. I was never meant to feel like I was in the way, or bugging them with my endless questions. It meant a lot to us that they cared about building us our dream home, and I never once felt like they were simply going through the motions. This goes for anyone who you had in our home working on it. The attention to detail and quality are second to none!

Another thing that impressed me was how fast a response we received from you whenever we had a question. I think you understand this is a big investment for us, and you never made us feel like we weren't important (no matter how busy you were). All of the subcontracts that you suggested to us were very helpful, friendly, and made the process go as smooth as possible. Whenever we had questions, we received prompt responses.

Finally, the Co-Construct website and how smooth that helps things operate was a real plus. It makes the contacts, organization, costs, etc. understandable in an efficient way. I couldn't imagine building without it.

Wemoved to Bismarck in August 2015 due to an employment relocation from Fargo. We areoriginally from Bismarck so the area was familiar to us. Many of our family still live here. Our parents were even able to help us with our home search. Upon walking in to the 3608 Clairmont Road spec home, all of usknew this was meant to be our house.

Chad was very easy to work with throughout the preliminary offer stages. He was responsive and helpful with answering anyquestions our realtor posed to him. After the contract was signed, he was very accommodating with various changes we wanted made with the house (i.e., switching outelectric range to gas, different front door design). On closing date,we metvariousmembers of the K&L team, including Ryan. Who I now fondly refer to as "Handyman Ryan who knowshow to do everything."

Everyone knows after you buy a home, especiallya new home, there are always going to be little tweaks that need tobe done, or things younotice after you have lived in the house for a few weeks/months. Working with the online "Co-Construct" site, Ryan was here within hours to fix any and everything - always with a smile and a pleasant demeanor. Always courteous, arriving at the time hesaid he would, and completing a thorough job. He may have even hauled out his "really tall ladder" and retrieved 8 Nerf foam bullets from one of our landings...

Andwhen hewasn't at our house, he would be found in his white "K&L Service Call" van roaming the neighborhood to help at some other home. Ryan truly knows what exemplary customer service means and K&L is lucky to have found him. I am writing this testimonial to tell you how impressed we continue to be with our K&L home which is located at 3806 Monreo Drive. We have been in our home for nearly two years and the K&L buying experience along with the quality of our home has been fantastic.

Prior to the sale, you and your team were very helpful in helping us make modifications to the house so it immediately felt like "home" to my wife and I and our two daughters. You and your team were professional, honest and always met the timeframes that enabled us to move into our "home" on time.

We want to tell you how much we love and enjoy our new patio home in Heritage Park! Four years ago, you built our dream home in Promontory Point and set the bar high. It is a beautiful home. We loved that home and we received so many wonderful compliments on that house. Of course, our needs dramatically changed when our children moved out.

Because of the quality of that home, we only considered building with K&L Homes, again. During the past four years we believe we have been inside at least 50 of your homes and have always been impressed with each of those homes. Being able to freely tour your inventory of completed homes and homes in-progress is one of the best aspects of building with you. The personal viewings were so beneficial and we gathered some neat ideas along the way.

The patio home with a loft, including a family room, bedroom and bathroom is perfect for our current needs. We are so pleased that your home accommodated a second fireplace in the loft to truly give us a second comfortable and cozy room to enjoy and entertain ourselves. Several of the subcontractors commented on the design and usefulness of the storage space in the garage and mechanical room. It has been a lifesaver
for our extra belongings.

The main floor feels spacious. It is attractively and functionally designed. We are delighted about not having to spend time with lawn moving and snow removal in the future and this will give us so much more free time. Your Co-Construct building program is terrific. The ability to track project schedules, interior selections, calculate the costs, and understand the charges for optional upgrades or change orders, completely eliminates any surprises. After building two homes we have so much appreciation for Co-Construct.

Your subcontractors were excellent. Their employees, as well as your employees, were professional, respectful, and very accommodating of our needs and expectations. You have "upped your game" even more since our last house, with the quality of subcontractors and home construction. These persons are
craftsmen and the pride in their work is so obvious in the cabinets, backsplash, stonework, lighting, etc.

The investment you have made in the landscaping, community park, and lighting really has enhanced this development. It is an appealing development in which you have worked hard to keep all the homes attractive and in a similar theme, with some differences in floor plans, landscaping and home exterior design.

Finally, one of the things that impressed us and we appreciated the most was the high level of service in tweaking our last home after we moved in. That kind of service indicates commitment to customer satisfaction and that has been obvious.

When we decided to build a home for the first time, we wanted a builder who would work with us to customize a home that reflects who we are and fits our lifestyle. We also wanted a builder who could make the process manageable to keep the overwhelm to a minimum.

It hardly seems like over a year since we closed. Time has made us more appreciative of our K & L home. We are very appreciative of how well things went not only with the construction process but you and your vendors prompt response to warranty items that arose during the warranty period after closing on our home.

As a partner in Larson Latham Huettl, I know the problems that can arise with the construction of a new home.

My law firm takes calls from a surprisingly large number of people having issues with the construction of their new home. What should be a dream come true has turned out to be a nightmare for some. Mold throughout a new home to a builder taking the money and not finishing the construction are just a few examples. Then the issue often is the solvency of the builder and ability or willingness to stand behind their work.

We would like to thank you and commend you and your vendors for your prompt attention to the warranty items that arose after closing. Getting a builder that has been paid after closing to come back and take care of warranty items is the source of a lot of consumer unhappiness and frustration with their builder. This is an area we were particularly impressed with K & L. From a vent cap coming off to the air conditioner not working we always received a prompt response.

I cannot emphasize enough to anyone considering new home construction that they go with a builder who has a proven track record of building quality homes and standing behind their product. Having lived in a home built by your parents in 1989 and knowing their reputation in the community as home builders (actually know what K & L stands for ) we knew of K & L's long standing reputation in the community which was a major factor in going with a K & L home. We are very pleased with our K & L home and would recommend K & L to anyone considering building a home.

To Whom It May Concern

In early 2017, Paula and I decided to look for a new home, one that would fit our retirement plans. In early summer of 2017 we had the chance to look at a K&L model home (1107 Community Loop) and immediately decided that this was the type of home we would like to have. There were no steps, which was very appealing to us. Also, the workmanship from floor to ceiling was outstanding.

We made an appointment with the President of K&L Homes, Chad Moldenhauer. Chad was very friendly and answered our questions in a professional way. We also met with Chad's office manager, Michelle Holly, who was also very helpful in our early planning stages. In July, we decided on a home plan.

We were very diligent in using co-construct, a user-friendly and fantastic tool that helped us tremendously and gave us a front row seat as our home was being built. We suggest to anyone building a home through Chad's company to use co-construct, but make your building choices as early as possible. This allows you time if you decide to make changes during construction. Co-construct also provided us with an up-to-the-minute cost analysis of the home.

We would like to thank some of the staff of K&L for all their help and needed information. We had the opportunity to meet the lead foremen, Clint Miller, early in the process. Jonathan was a gem to work with, providing us with some good ideas. His two helpers, Jeremy and Shawn were also very friendly and helpful, as well as the staff that did the interior painting. We were also impressed with the maintenance person, Ryan, and feel confident in his ability. Sorry if we missed anyone; just can't remember all the names.
